The Association of American Publishers (AAP) has launched a new comprehensive national online database to make it easier and quicker for students with print-related disabilities, such as blindness or dyslexia, to obtain the alternative textbooks they need for their college courses.

In an effort to maximize the opportunity for publishers to press their case with Members of Congress on a range of important issues including copyright, domestic and international piracy, reading and literacy initiatives, the impact of the open source movement, and the 2010 outlook for K-12 publishing, the Association of American Publishers has announced plans to coordinate the AAP 2010 General Annual Meeting with the Annual Meeting of the AAP School Division in Washington, DC on March 3, 2010. The meetings will be held at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.

Luisa Simpson, an attorney with a strong background in intellectual property, trade law, and technology policy, as Executive Director, International Copyright Enforcement and Trade Policy. Ms. Simpson, who officially joins AAP on August 24, succeeds Patricia Judd who left AAP this summer to accept a teaching fellowship and pursue a career in academia.
