The Library of Congress launched its new CIP e-book metadata pilot on October 11th, 2011. Ms. Saccucci will give a 20-minute presentation sharing information on initial findings of the pilot, including a description of the metadata created for electronic books by the Library of Congress. The rest of the presentation will be a focused question and answer period led by Mr. Debus-López. A list of discussion questions and topics will be shared prior to the meeting, and publishers are asked to provide their feedback and share their suggestions during the discussion. The goal of this meeting is to brainstorm about ideas of how scholarly publishers and the Library of Congress can work together to provide better metadata and access to electronic works.
