“Those who insert themselves into as many channels as possible look set to capture the most value. They’ll be the richest, the most successful, the most connected, capable and influential among us. We’re all publishers now, and the more we publish, the more valuable connections we’ll make.” -Pete Cashmore, Founder of Mashable
“Innovation needs to be part of your culture. Consumers are transforming faster than we are, and if we don’t catch up, we’re in trouble.” — Ian Schafer CEO and Founder of Deep Focus
“Quit counting fans, followers and blog subscribers like bottle caps. Think, instead, about what you’re hoping to achieve with and through the community that actually cares about what you’re doing.” —Amber Naslund Co-Founder and President of sideraworks.com
Social Media and Networking in PSP 3.0 is the next installation of this tremendously important topic in publishing. The seminar changes tack this year and focuses on Mobile, the Cloud, and User Engagement. For today’s demanding customer, delivering content to any location and to any device they own is increasingly important. And for publishers, finding new ways of engaging with our customers to understand their current and future needs helps us push our business forward. Our panel of experts has extensive experience in developing and deploying mobile, cloud, and engagement tools for their customers, both internal and external to scholarly publishing. They’ll provide for us the current state of the art and their thoughts on where these technologies are heading. We’ll leave ample time for lively discussion.
