American Medical Publishers Committee (AMPC) Presents…
Publishing for the EHR 101
Webinar
Tuesday, May 20th, 2008
3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (ET)
Location: Online
Who Should Attend: Medical editors interested in learning how to develop or modify content for integration into Electronic Health Records.
In 2004, the government set a goal of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) for all Americans by 2014. Medical publishers must now follow the physicians – providing content that seamlessly integrates into the new physician workflow.
This webinar will provide an insightful and multi-faceted introduction to the world of EHRs and its implications for medical publishers. Speakers will address the EHR from the perspective of a platform vendor; a content provider; and a medical professional / bioinformatics expert – answering the following questions:
- What are EHRs? How do they work and how do physicians use them?
- What role does content currently play in EHRs?
- What type of content is best suited for the EHR?
- How do EHR vendors select content for inclusion?
- What are the major benefits for publishers of inclusion in EHRs?
- What special demands do EHRs place on publishers for content development and production?
- How do physicians perceive and use EHRs? What are the major points of acceptance and/or resistance?
- What approaches currently exist within the EHR for content integration?
- How can publishers improve their integration into EHRs?
- What does the future hold for publishers & EHRs?
