Raids Near Multiple Universities in Korea Nets Hundreds of Infringing Copies

In early September (from 5th through 17th), AAP in collaboration with local Korean police raided eight university campus areas in four territories (Seoul, Daejoeon, Gyeonggi, and Jeonju). The targets, mostly copyshops in and around campuses, engaged in illicit photocopying, distribution and sale of textbooks. The enforcement activities resulted in a total seizure of over 820 illegal copies of books, most of which were published by AAP member companies, such as Pearson  Education, Oxford University Press, Springer, Cambridge University Press, Elsevier, Cengage Learning, John Wiley & Sons, and McGraw-Hill, along with significant number of materials from Korean publishers.
