Smaller & Independent Publishers

Created in 1998 to meet the specific needs of AAP’s small and independent publisher members, the SIP Committee organizes meetings and programs on topics of special concern and interest to this segment of the industry. Programs cover such topics as promotion, special sales, foreign rights, building a successful publishing house, Internet opportunities, library markets, and media strategies. The SIP Committee pays tribute each year to outstanding achievements in small and independent publishing through the Miriam Bass Award.
